Accounting Assistant

The Job holder will be responsible to the Head of Accounts and perform tasks as assigned. 

We expect the candidate to be proactive and have a "get it done" spirit. To be successful, you will have solid solving problem skills.

  • Provide administrative support to the Head of Accounts.
  • Create and update expense reports
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Creating Purchase orders and approvals 
  • Monthly Petty Cash Transactions Reconciliation
  • Process reimbursement forms
  • Prepare bank deposits  
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases
  • Give analytical reports via Spreadsheet.
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits
  • Engaged in accounts clerical tasks i.e. filing of receipts and invoices
  • Any other task as may be assigned by the Manager

Required Competencies, knowledge and Skills

  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Excellent analytical, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with full word, excel, ERP and accounting software.

Education and Experience

  • 2-3 years post NYSC experience in Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk roles.  
  • Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
